The One Trait That All Successful People Have (and It’s Not Talent)
Dive into the key elements that drive success, highlighting the power of consistency and resilience. Discipline serves as the backbone of building confidence, fostering personal growth, and sustaining motivation, even when challenges arise. We explore effective strategies for staying focused on goals and how small, consistent actions shape a strong identity aligned with long-term success. By strengthening these traits, we can unlock a greater sense of self-assurance and progress, revealing that success is not just about reaching an endpoint but about becoming the person capable of achieving it.
Monday Motivation - One "Hard" Thing
I listened to a podcast last week with a woman who seems to have mastered the art of balance. She’s built and sold multiple consulting businesses for millions, raised four kids, and even went to culinary school in her spare time. Impressive, right?
Monday Motivation - Finding Motivation When Feeling Depressed
There are seasons in life when life feels overwhelming, and it's hard to find the energy to do the things you know are good for you. Getting motivated when feeling depressed can seem impossible. But even on your hardest days, there's still hope, and I want to encourage you to take one small step toward feeling better.
Motivation Monday - Embrace the Law of 90
I want to share a powerful strategy that could transform your fitness and nutrition journey—it’s called the Law of 90, and it’s a total game-changer. We use this "Law of 90" when anyone joins Blue Eagle.
Motivation Monday - Stories of Compassion in Our Community
On Saturday, August 17, at 9 AM, we will host a charity fundraiser for Family Hope Fulshear. At Blue Eagle Fitness & Nutrition, we believe in the power of giving back, and I am continually inspired by the amazing work being done by Family Hope. Their mission is simple yet profound: to serve our community with compassion and care.
Monday Motivation - Handling Stress
The past couple of weeks have been stressful for many of us. Hurricane Beryl caused about two million Houstonians to lose electricity (and our air conditioning). It also knocked down lots of trees and fences, which you may still be cutting up.
How to Prepare for a Hurricane in Fulshear, TX
Fulshear, TX, is 130 feet above sea level and approximately 60 miles from the Gulf Coast. Lots of advice you may find online about preparing for a hurricane applies to people living closer to the coast.
Motivation Monday - Conquer Your Mornings
Happy Monday, Blue Eagle!
Even though the lazy days of summer are here, we are still pretty busy. One of the best ways to have a fulfilling day among the busyness, is to start with a nutritious breakfast.
Breakfast Ideas
Here are some easy ideas:
Overnight oats with yogurt and berries
Monday Motivation - Be Better: Get a Coach
TwoBrain Summit
I spent this past weekend in Chicago at the TwoBrain Business Summit. I have two “heroes” in the gym ownership space: Chris Cooper and Ben Bergeron.
Chris Cooper
Chris Cooper started a business mentoring small-business owners, especially of gyms. I love Chris Cooper because of his mindset. He wrote a book called “Help First,” which is exactly what we try to do at Blue Eagle.
Ben Bergeron
Monday Motivation - Be Useful!
The picture is of my daughter, Ariana. I have three daughters: Kaeli (18), Avery (16), and Ariana (8). Kaeli loves to swim, Avery loves to play water polo, and Ariana loves to be eight years old. She loves to watch TV, play computer games, and (generally speaking) be useless.
Monday Motivation - Measure the Milestones
This weekend marked graduation weekend for my senior at Jordan High School. We had a great time celebrating her athletic, academic, and personal accomplishments over the past eighteen years. Plenty of her friends and adults who played a role in shaping the young woman she has become came to our house to celebrate. Celesta and I are very proud of Kaeli.
Motivation Monday - Progress Is Progress
There are ebbs and flows in life. Sometimes we are busy, especially this time of year. Kids are graduating college, high school, or maybe even kindergarten! Events are being celebrated, like dance recitals, musical performances, and spring sports championships.
Maybe you are out of your normal routine, or maybe you are looking to get into a new routine as summer approaches.
Monday Motivation - Some Days Are Bad Days
Some days are bad days. Of course, we prefer our days to be good or even great, but such is life.
In my chemistry career, every brand-new chemist would have a bad day about three months after starting in the laboratory. I would hear a glass flask or beaker fall and shatter. It's not a nig deal and is a part of working in a lab. But then, about an hour later, I would hear another glass flask or beaker shatter... And then a third sound of shattered glass.
Monday Motivation - Shaping The Bonsai
Growing a bonsai tree was popular when I was a kid, probably because cool Mr. Miyagi from The Karate Kid cared for a bonsai tree.
Monday (or Wednesday!) Motivation - Earn A Badge
This Saturday, we will run and raise money for a wonderful and local Fulshear charity: Annabelle's Amazing Graces. You can learn more and register here: Doing More For Others.
Monday Motivation - Show up... People Need You!
Later today, we will have multiple athletes receive an email from CrossFit Headquarters that they have made it past the CrossFit Open and into the Quarterfinals. To move on to the Semifinals, these athletes must perform 4-5 workouts from April 17-22. From April 17-22, our normal class programming will be these required workouts.
Monday Motivation - This Saturday... Minute to Win It!
Congratulations to everyone who completed the last CrossFit Open workout 24.3! After three weeks of workouts, every team led one week of scoring. Team GOLD led the first week with thirteen (13) participants, Team RED led the second week with eighteen (18), and Team BLUE led the third week with eleven (11) participants. Someone with a watchful eye may notice that Team RED won week 2. My email from last incorrectly identified the wrong team as the winner. Team RED won last week.
Monday Motivation - Gratitude and Solutions
Today's email is a day late because I drove my family to a Florida beach for eleven hours. If you know me and Celesta well, you know we did not waste this opportunity. We listened to a couple of books. One of the books was "The No Complaining Rule" by Jon Gordon. There are two types of complaints: useless and useful.
Monday Motivation: We Care (Because You Care)
Do you realize you have a team of coaches who dedicate their lives to serving you as best as possible?
My objective for this team is to "Deliver a personalized experience based on the Five Love Languages to everyone on the Enneagram." Next week, I will lead them through a 10-week course on how to serve you best no matter where your personality falls on the Enneagram scale.
Monday Motivation - There's Nothing Stopping You
I love the Houston Texans! This has been a fun season. The Texans won the AFC South division this weekend and will host a playoff game next week. I also love our head coach, DeMeco Ryans. As a player, DeMeco Ryans was an All-American at Alabama in college and then an All-Pro for the Texans in the NFL. Given his background, his ascent as a top NFL head coach is unsurprising.
