Let the Outcome Go!
How Geno Auriemma Redefines Winning for High Performers
Geno Auriemma isn’t just one of the greatest basketball coaches of all time, he is also a master of mindset. Last night, before UCONN stepped into their 24th Final Four appearance, he reminded his players of something every high performer should hear:
“We’ve won 11 of them, and we’ve lost 12. But nobody introduces me as the guy who’s lost 12 Final Fours.”
Let that sink in.
He didn’t fixate on the losses. He emphasized the showing up. The giving effort. The consistency.

Stop Obsessing Over Outcomes
How often do you hold back because you’re afraid it won’t be good enough? Whether it’s a workout, a presentation, a relationship, or a dream you’ve been sitting on… fear of failing can keep you from ever starting.
But here’s the truth: the win is in the showing up.
If you're training with us at Blue Eagle Fitness & Nutrition, you already know we measure success in reps, in consistency, in being present for the hard days… not just in perfect outcomes.

Make Winning Plays That Get You in the Game
Auriemma told his team:
“Make winning plays that put you in games, and then show up fully and go hard.”
That’s it. That’s the mindset shift. Winning plays are made in the daily decisions: choosing a protein-rich breakfast, making time for a quick workout, turning off Netflix and going to bed.
Show up for those, and you are a high performer.

If It’s Good Enough, You’re a Champion.
And here’s the kicker:
“If it’s good enough, you’re a champion. If not, shake their hands and say congratulations.”
What if we all took that attitude into this week?
Go for it with everything you’ve got… let go of the rest.
Stop letting the fear of failure override the joy of competing, the pride in effort, and the beauty of growth.
