Motivation Monday - Our Words Improve Our Performance
Control Your Destiny
Happy Monday, Blue Eagle!
Did you know you can control your destiny with the words you say to others and yourself? This is why I believe so strongly about positive affirmations. If giving yourself positive affirmations is too difficult or feels weird, then try them on your family or friends.
I am responsible for "morning duty" in my family. This means I am the primary caretaker of getting my kids out the door:- make sure everyone is awake- fix breakfast- take my 3rd-grader to school
I also make it my responsibility to set a positive tone in the morning. My daughters hear me tell them something nice about them every morning. Admittedly, my 16-year-old does not always appreciate these words as much as I wish she would. But my 8-year-old loves them.
The Voice in Our Heads
We all have a voice in our heads that says negative things about us. But we also have a positive voice. Every morning, I want to amplify the positive voice in my kids' heads. And I want to amplify the positive voice in my own head as well.
The data is clear: our words improve our performance. The more positive things we hear, the better we feel and the more we accomplish.
Say Something Positive
I want to encourage you to say something positive about yourself every day this week. If you need help or ideas on how to get started, reply to this email with "Say Something Positive," and I will leave a free copy of my book for you at the gym.
You can also find a copy of my book, One Minute Fitness, on Amazon.
Have a great week!
