How to Know If You Are Eating Protein: The Calculation

  • Divide the number of calories in your food by the number of grams of protein.

  • Peanut Butter = 180 calories / 7 g of protein

    • Protein Ratio = 26

    • For 26 calories, you gain 1 g of protein

  • Egg Whites = 25 calories / 5 g protein

    • Egg White’s Protein Ratio = 5

  • Chicken = 180 calories / 30 g protein

    • Chicken’s Protein Ratio = 6

  • Bread = 80 calories / 3 g protein

    • Bread’s Protein Ratio = 27
