Monday Motivation - Are Your Worries & Complaints Serving You?
Happy Monday, Blue Eagle!
Yesterday afternoon, the final four college football teams, who will play for the national title, were announced. Florida State was left out of the final four despite going undefeated and winning their conference championship. The University of Georgia was left out even though they have lost only once in their last thirty games.
Many people in my life seem to be losing their minds over these travesties.
I could follow them and complain about how the situation is unfair, but these complaints would not serve me or have a positive impact on my life.
This is not to stay we should bury our heads in the sand and ignore the world we live in. My preferred method is to measure my worries and complaints against this:
Do my worries and complaints help me positively impact the lives of people around me?
If the answer is, "Yes!" then what action can I take to make the situation better?
Any opinions I might have about college football, the overall direction of the fitness industry, or politicians running our country, are not helpful. There are little to no actions I can take to make the situation better. So I move on.
I take actions that are helpful:
Write motivational emails
Record podcasts with information I hope you find helpful (Busy People Getting Fit on Spotify and Busy People Getting Fit on YouTube)
Attend my daughters' swim meets, water polo tournaments, and ukulele recitals
Use this opportunity to reflect on whether or not your worries and complaints are serving you.
Have a great week!
