Monday Motivation - What's Your "Why?"

Happy Monday, Blue Eagle!

A psychologist, Simon Sinek, helps people be the best versions of themselves. He wrote a book called, "Start With Why," where he asks, "what's your 'why?'"

  • Why do you get our of bed?

  • Why do you take care of yourself?

  • Why do you workout?

  • Why do you do the hard things that you may not want to do?

Here is a video of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson surprising UFC Fighter Themba Gorimbo with a new house. Themba Gorimbo is a UFC fighter from Zimbabwe. He got a contract with the UFC and moved to Miami. However, he sleeps at the gym because he has no money. Literally. He has no $$$. He finally won a fight and sent all the money home to his village. So, The Rock bought him a house. At about the 3:04 mark of the video, you get a look at Themba's bed in the gym. There is a piece of paper taped above it. It is a list of Themba's 'Why's.'

Here are my Why's...

  • I work to provide a place that helps people live longer, happier, and healthier lives in a world of chronic diseases (obesity, heart disease, and cancer).

  • I work to provide my community with a place that feels welcoming in a world that tries to divide us.

  • I work to show my kids you can be the change other people need in their lives.
