Michelle’s Story

Michelle Rayburn is a loving wife, mother, and Christian woman who has been fighting cancer for over 3 years. Through various types of treatments, spanning from chemotherapy to intensive surgeries, Michelle has fought valiantly for her health against cancer.

UPDATE (August 17)

Workout “To Grandmother’s House We Go”

This is one of three workouts everyone will do in round #1. The workout is called "To Grandmother's House We Go."

Score = total number of wheelbarrow runs

At 3, 2, 1, Go! One partner will start performing fifteen (15) ball slams. After completing the fifteen (15) ball slams, the athlete will shuttle the wheelbarrow down and back for one rep. As soon as the first partner finishes the ball slams, the second may start with ball slams.

The second partner can begin at any time, but two athletes cannot simultaneously work on the same movement. If an athlete slows down, the partner may pass the slowing athlete.

However, the rule remains that only one athlete can work on a given movement at a time.

Workout “Through the Woods”

The workout is called "Through the Woods."

Score = total number of wall ball shots

At 3, 2, 1, Go! One partner will start performing five (5) AbMat sit-ups. The athlete's feet are butterflied, and the athlete's hands touch in front of the feet and behind the head to complete one rep. After completing the five (5) sit-ups, the athlete will get over the box by either jumping over, jumping on top or stepping over. After getting over the box, the athlete will perform a burpee followed by a wall ball shot. This is one rep.

The second partner can begin at any time, but two athletes cannot work on the same movement at the same time.

If an athlete slows down, the partner may pass the slowing athlete. However, the rule remains that only one athlete can work on a given movement at a time.

UPDATE (August 15)

Workout “Over the River”

This is one of three workouts everyone will do in round #1. The workout is called "Over the Water."

Score = total number of calories rowed *PLUS* number of bags through the cornhole.

At 3, 2, 1, Go! One partner will start rowing for calories. The second partner will complete 20 ground-to-overhead (G2OH) with a plate (45 lbs men, 15 lbs women). After the second partner completes 20 G2OH, that partner will play cornhole.

The second partner has four bags and needs to sink two bags in the cornhole. If two bags do not fall through the hole, then the second partner runs to the platform and grabs *all four bags*. The partner continues until *two bags total* fall through the hole. Once two bags total have fallen through the hole, the partner starts over with 20 G2OH.

Partners can switch places at any time.

RAFFLE: We will have a raffle at our Rayburn Family Fundraiser on Saturday, August 20. Raffle tickets can be bought at the event for $10 apiece. EVENT: Rayburn Family Fundraiser

MISSION: To get donations to the GiveSendGo link. This is a FUNDRAISER. Success will be determined by how much money we can make for the Rayburn family.

DATE: Saturday, August 20.

TIME: 9-11:30 AM. At 9 AM, we will have opening comments about our reason for gathering and instructions for all three workouts. The event will start at 9:30 AM. All teams will complete three workouts in about one hour. The final round, which will determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, will start at around 10:45 AM.

TEAMS: Teams of two (2). There will be two divisions: M/M and F/F. Teams of M/F and F/F can be in the M/M division if they choose.

DONATION: $250/team

GOAL & LIMIT: 24 Teams. With 24 teams at $250/team, we will raise $6,000 for the Rayburn Family.
